Cutaneous focal mucinosis is usually a solitary, asymptomatic, flesh-colored to white papule or nodule located on the face, neck, trunk or extremities but never over the joint of the hands, wrists, or feet. Histopathologically, it is characterized by localized deposition of mucin and associated fibroblast proliferation in the upper dermis. We describe a case of cutaneous focal mucinosis on the forearm of a 58-year-old man. (Korean J Dermatol 2000;38(5):683~686)
