지역분할기법을 이용한 택배 영업소 배송권역 설정에 관한 연구 = Delimitation of Local Parcel Delivery Service Areas using Regional Partitioning Method

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Situated at the forefront of customer service, last-mile parcel delivery operation plays a critical role in the entire parcel delivery network. However, parcel delivery service companies in Korea often outsource local delivery activities to local small businesses while focusing on line-haul transportations between terminals. Unbalanced delivery loads among local delivery centers have caused diminishing profits for certain delivery centers eventually leading to customer service deterioration. This study aims at delimitating service areas providing relatively balanced share of delivery loads to local parcel delivery centers. Based on the spatial pattern of parcel delivery demand in Seoul, Korea, numbers and locations of delivery centers are determined for each terminal districts. Then service areas of local delivery centers are delimitated based on Dong-level administrative districts in Seoul using regional partitioning method to ensure each service area is contiguous, compact, and balanced in parcel delivery loads.
