      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The paper examines acoustic realization of Daejeon Korean stops in three different prosodic positions, AP-initial, AP-medial, and word-medial. The results showed that Korean stops are differentiated by closure duration, VOT, and F0 and their realizations varied depending on the prosodic position. The distinction of closure duration among stops was prominent word- medially and the different realizations of F0s for stop contrast were prominent word-initially. The F0 contrast between lax and other stops in word- initial position was weakened word-medially and neutralized when they were preceded by word-initial aspirated or tense stops. Daejeon Korean stops showed a VOT merger of lax and aspirated stops in AP-initial and AP-medial position. In addition, VOTs for lax stops were even longer than those for aspirated stops in female AP-initial position.
