The purpose of this paper is to present a teaching method of Korean modal marker /-t∂/, which is attached to sentence final endings. /-t∂ra/has been chosen for the object of the current study among the grammatical items that include/-t∂/ considering the degree of frequency and unmarkedness. In the pedagogical grammar of Korean, /-t∂/, in general, has been deemed to have the meaning of retrospective. The Presentation of /-ta/ by this meta-linguistic way, however, might cause learners' misunderstanding on the usage of /-t∂ra/, and, thus, it is expected to bring our errors. Accordingly, the study adopts the assertion of Kyung-Hee-Chang(1995) that /-t∂/has the meaning of past perception. Following this, the study presents the audio-visual material that attempts to help the speakers to focus on the perception of the past affairs related to /-t∂ra/, and the study also provides the drawings that would cover the diverse aspects of the perceptions, at Warm-up and Presentation stage. Furthermore, pedagogic and real-world tasks are designed so that learners can apply their discourse·pragmatic knowledge to the actual conversation. In addition, the discourse, pragmatical differences between /-t∂rako/ and /-t∂rakoyo/that are morphologically related to /-t∂ ra/, also are discussed.
