정신병동 이용자의 물리적 공간 환경 경험과 인식 = 정신질환에 대한 편견과 스티그마가 투영된 공간

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 주의 깊게 디자인된 의료기관의 물리적 공간이 치유적 도구로 기능할 수 있다는 연구결과가 축적된 상황에서, 안전성, 사생활보호, 심미성, 편리함, 소통, 쾌적성의 여섯 가지 치유적 디자인 요소를 중심으로 입원 경험자와 병동 치료진대상 초점집단 인터뷰를 수행하고 유형화하였다. 연구참여자들은 자타해위험 예방중심의 안전성 요소에 치중하여 여타의 치유적 디자인 요소는 거의 갖추지 못한 환경에서 치료받거나 근무하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 기초하여 정신병동 공간환경 개선 필요성 및 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Research now shown that the well-designed physical environments of hospitals can affect health, including physiological, psychological, clinical and behavioral effects. This study reports findings from focus-group interviews on the experiences of hospitalization from 5 former inpatients and 5 psychiatric hospital staffs. Interview results were analyzed and classified based on the previous studies. It was found that the physical devices and facilities that were designed to prevent various accidents and to enhance safety have priority over all other healing design elements promoting convenience, attractiveness, social-recreational opportunities, privacy, and human rights. Based on the results, practical directions for improvement were suggested.
