(1) "Political Propaganda" has been defined in various ways by scholars. But this writer defines it as follows :
"Political Propaganda is the technique used to manipulate the masses with one's own political ends.
(2) The basic points in the evolution of political propaganda are as follows:
First, the masses of modern society, when the stepped on the political stage through the system of universal suffrage, became the target of manipulation by the ruling class.
Second, with the introduction of mass communication the technique of political propaganda was greatly changed.
(3) The writer classifies the various styles of political propaganda as follows:
① Authoritorian style (=Totalitarian style)
(i) Fascist style (=Hitler style)
(ii) Socialist style (=Lenin style)
② Liberal style (=Democratic style)
(4) The principles of political propaganda are as follows:
① The principles of political propaganda.
ⓐ principle of simplication and unification.
ⓑ principle of enlargement and destortion
ⓒ principle of orchestration
ⓓ principle of transmission.
ⓔ principle a conformity and idntification.
② Technique of antaganistic propaganda:
ⓐ clearly grasping the theme of the enemy.
ⓑ attacking the weakness of enemy.
ⓒ using an indirect attack to counter a strong enemy.
ⓓ discrediting the enemy.
ⓔ using facts to denounce the enemy's propaganda.
ⓕ making a force of the enemy.
ⓖ creating an "atmosphere of power" stronger than that of the enemy.
(5) Political propaganda is a reality that we cannot ignore. Instead, lye must analyze every aspect of it so that it can be a tool at our disposal. Then, this "necessary evil" will actually contribute to the well-being of society.
(6) It is very important to study political propaganda from the part of technique and style. However, we cannot ignore the element of mystic power included in all propaganda.
