『샌디튼』, 해변휴양지, 그리고 영국성 = Sanditon, Seaside resort, and Englishness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to analyze Austen`s Sanditon (1817) as a version of the national tale in the Regency period. We can find that the attachment of Austen`s narrative is strictly to England and the English, and that the social history of England is central to her last, unfinished text. We can also find her national fixity, Englishness among the houses, characters, and landscapes around Sanditon. Furthermore, Sanditon is the first novel addressing the sociability organized around the English seaside resort in her works. With this background, this work can be read as a work of celebration after the Napoleonic wars and Austen`s record of an English seaside way of life in the Regency period.
