혼종모형을 이용한 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량 개념분석 = A Concept Analysis of Nurse’s Cultural Competence for LGBT: Hybrid Model

국문 초록 (Abstract)

목적 본 연구의 목적은 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량에 대한 개념을 기술하는 것으로 문헌고찰과 간호사 면담을 통하여 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량 측정도구 개발을 위한 개념적 기초자료로 활용하기 위함이다. 방법 본 연구는 Schwartz-Barcott & Kim이 제안한 혼종모형 방식을 사용하여 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량에 대한 개념을 명확히 하기 위해 분석되었다. 이론적 단계에서 2011년부터 2021년까지 출판된 문헌을 수집하여 최종 12편의 논문을 분석하였다. 현장 조사 단계를 위해 2021년 8월 9일부터 9월 31일까지 10명의 간호사를 인터뷰하였다. 최종 분석 단계를 통해 간호사의 LGBT 문화적 역량의 속성과 차원을 도출하여 개념을 분석하였다. 결과 이론적 단계와 현장 작업 단계에서 파악된 속성을 바탕으로 성소수자 문화 역량을 정의하면, 4가지 차원과 7개 속성으로 종합되었다. 이에 따라서 성소수자 문화역량은 ‘태도 자각’, ‘지식정도 인식’, ‘만남’, ‘안전하고 효과적인 간호기술’, ‘일관된 간호’, ‘자발적 교육요구’와 ‘삶의 양식 존중’을 속성으로 가지고 있다. 종합해 보면, 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량은 성소수자를 만나 그들의 생활양식을 존중하고 교육과 훈련을 통해 긍정적 태도와 지식을 가지고 일관된 간호와 안전하고 편안한 기술을 제공하는 전문적인 간호를 할 수 있는 능력을 의미한다. 결론 성소수자 문화역량은 성소수자의 건강격차를 줄이고 간호의 질을 높일 수 있다. 그리고 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 간호사의 성소수자 문화역량 측정 도구 및 간호중재 개발을 제언한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of LGBT cultural competence of nurses and use it as a conceptual basic data for the development of nurses cultural competence measurement tool through literature review and nurses’ interviews. Methods This study was analyzed to clarify the concept of nurse’s LGBT cultural competence using a hybrid model method proposed by Schwartz-Barcott & Kim. For theoretical analysis, literature published from 2011 to 2021 was collected and final 12 articles were analyzed. For a field study, 10 nurses were interviewed from August 9 to September 31, 2021. Through the final analysis stage, the concept was analyzed by deriving attributes and dimensions of nurse’s LGBT cultural competence. Results As a result, when the LGBT cultural competence was defined based on the attributes identified in the theoretical stage and the field work stage, it was synthesized into four dimensions and seven attributes. Accordingly, LGBT cultural competence has the attributes of ‘attitude awareness’, ‘knowledge level awareness’, ‘encounter’, ‘safe and effective nursing skills’, ‘consistent nursing skills’, ‘voluntary educational needs’, and ‘respect for lifestyle’. Taken together, nurses LGBT cultural competence refers to the ability to meet LGBT, respect their lifestyle and provide consistent nursing and safe and comfortable skills with positive attitudes and knowledge through education and training. Conclusions In conclusion, LGBT cultural competence can reduce the health gap of LGBT and improve the quality of nursing. Based on the above research results, it is suggested to develop a tool that can measure the cultural competence of LGBT for nurses and develop nursing intervention.
