자유학기제 실시에 따른 중학생의 민주시민역량과 학교행복감 영향에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Influence of Middle School Students on the Democratic Citizenship and School Happiness by the Implementation of the Free Semester System

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The fundamental goal of the free semester is to improve students' dreams and individuality by deviating from knowledge-oriented monolithic education, and can be seen as an improvement to compensate for the problems of public education and as an extension of realizing school happiness education. However, since the free semester system was implemented based on the strong will of the past government and the current government without sufficient preparation, it reveals the limitations such as the possibility of academic decline and the lack of educational infrastructure. This study focused on the importance of democratic citizenship competency in strengthening community consciousness through various learning activities focused on experiential orientation aimed at the free semester system, and examined the relationship between democratic citizenship competence and school happiness. Looking at the results of this study comprehensively, it has been confirmed that the free semester system has a controlling effect of statically strengthening the relationship between democratic civic capabilities to school happiness, suggesting that the higher the level of democratic civic capabilities formed through the implementation of the free semester system, the higher the school happiness. We hope that these findings will help us explore the direction of stable spread and development to the free semester system and the free school year system.
