인터넷 커뮤니티 언어 기반의 문화 체계 연구 - 패션 관련 커뮤니티를 중심으로 - = Forming the Culture of an Internet Community from its Use of Language: A Case of a Fashion Community

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine how language use affects the formation of an Internet-based fashion community’s culture and explore the social significance of the community site’s cultural development. Among Internet communities in general, this study focused on fashion communities, specifically targeting Dieselmania, which is the largest fashion community on the Internet. In order to explain the cultural system’s formation process, we introduced, hypothesized, and verified, as a temporary concept, the cultural features that were inductively extracted from Dieselmania’s language. The features were compressed as follows: [amusement], [ostentation], [assessment] and [recognition]. Through correlation, it was confirmed that cultural reproduction occurred based on the interaction between these cultural features, which could be explained as one intact cultural system. In addition, the Commission considered the social and psychological factors that underlie the establishment of Dieselmania’s cultural system based on the presentation of libido for community ties with Freud and explained the implications of the cultural system in modern society through the lens of Kant's thoughts. Since this process confirms that language is acting as the most fundamental factor in society as a whole, we can explore the possibility of broadening the horizon with regard to the study of language.
