      Exploring the Early Childhood and Play-centered Education Curriculum Experienced by Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers in School Field Training

      Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of the early childhood and play-centered curriculum experienced by prospective early childhood teachers during their field training period, as well as the difficulties and requirements for implementing play. The subjects of the study were 25 fourth-year students in the Department of Early Childhood Education in N city, and open-ended questions were used to determine their perception of the curriculum, difficulties in implementing play, and requirements for implementing play. The results of the study showed that the role of an observer was most necessary for the role of the teacher, and the most difficult aspect was the lack of appropriate intervention timing and interaction in the play situation. The requirements included the need for strengthening actual cases and field education for the play situation. Based on the results of the study, organic mutual cooperation between universities and early childhood education sites was necessary for implementing the early childhood and play-centered curriculum, and a linkage plan with the early childhood education site that can provide prospective early childhood teachers with practical experience was discussed.
