The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of aged parent- adult children solidarity on the psychological distress. With questionnaires, aged parents were interviewed in Kwang-Ju city. 454 samples were analyzed by SAS program. The major findings can be summarized as follows : 1. Mean score of aged parent`s solidarity was 65.2(total score : 104, SD=9.94) and activity, poket money, health, religion, living arrangement was to be a major factor effecting aged parent`s solidarity with their adult children. 2. Mean score of psychological distress was 2.7(5 point Likert, SD=7.97) and health, activity, marital status, independence, number of son was to be a major factor effecting aged parent`s psychological distress. 3. Solidarity of aged parents with their adult children had a negative effect on the allevation of aged parent`s psychological distress, especially psychological distress of aged parents was decreased by affectional solidarity.
