초등 도덕과 새 교과용 도서 개발의 방향과 과제 = A Study on Development of Moral Education Textbooks for Elementary School Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In 2015, the national moral education curriculum for elementary and secondary education was revised and officially notified. Accordingly, we have an very important task to develop new moral education textbooks for elementary and secondary school students. So, I tried to inquire and suggest the desirable directions and ways of development of moral education textbooks for elementary school children in this paper. First of all, especially to achieve the purpose of this paper, I analyzed the textbooks based on the 2009 national curriculum of moral education and identified the strengths, weaknesses, distinct characteristics of them and suggested some desirable ways to improve the textbooks now in use. Secondly, on the basis of above-mentioned analysis, I tried to establish the vision and goals of developing new textbooks of elementary moral education, and as a result, I became to emphasized the importance of moral education`s essentials and identity, cultivating and fostering key character competencies, and self-directed moral learning. Finally, I set up several tasks that are very important to develop good textbooks of moral education and suggested some possible ways that are indispensible to resolve the problems and to accomplish the tasks. Especially, all things taken together, I stressed that we need to significantly consider virtue education approach to our elementary moral education, reducing the amount of learning contents, matching with student`s moral and intellectual levels, and innovative improvement in design, framework, and contents compositions of moral education textbooks.
