아버지의 자녀양육 참여에 영향을 미치는 변인 -부모 공동양육의 관점에서- = Multiple Determinants of Father Involvement -Measuring Mother and Father Shared Caregiving-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to provide information about multiple determinants of father involvement from the point of shared caregiving. To create a measure of perceived shared caregiving, this study used responses to a set of items in the caregiving and child-related household tasks. The subjects were 261 fathers with child age 3. Respondents answered “always mother”, “usually mother”, “shared”, “usually father”, “always father”. The major findings were the following：first, caregiving and nurturing activities, and child education were included in mother's area, outdoor play and going out with child included in shared caregiving area. Second, in wife’s support, fathers’ perceived competence, wife‘s employment served to facilitate increased involvement by fathers.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아버지의 자녀양육 참여의 일반적 경향과 관련변인을 규명하기 위하여 만 3세 자녀가 있는 아버지 261명의 질문지 자료를 분석하였다. 아버지의 자녀양육 참여는 부모 공동양육의 관점에서 척도를 구성하였으며, 관련변인으로서 부모 유능감, 부모역할 만족도, 직장에서의 아버지 육아휴직에 대한 태도, 아내의 협력, 아내의 취업여부를 선정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 직접적인 돌봄이나 양육적인 활동 그리고 자녀 교육 및 지도와 관련된 자녀 양육 영역은 어머니 중심으로 이뤄지고 실외놀이와 외출 등 활동 위주의 양육 영역이나 정서적 지지나 보호 등의 양육영역에서는 부모공동양육이 이뤄지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모공동양육을 설명하는데 있어서, 아내협력, 아버지의 유능감, 맞벌이가 예측변인으로 나타났으며 공동양육을 예측해주는 전체 설명력은 14%였다. 아버지가 자녀양육에서 아내의 적극적인 협력을 받으며 자녀양육에 자신감을 갖고 있는 아버지들이 양육에 더 많이 참여하는 것으로 나타났다.
