이순신과 鄭運 - 녹도만호 정운의 활동을 중심으로 - = i Sun-Sin and Jeng-Un - A study on the role of Nokdo Man Ho Jeng-Un -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to investigate Nokdo Man Ho Jeng-Un`s activities and military merit in the victory of naval battles in the ImJin year.
Even though he played an important role in the naval battles, there has not been any research on his activities.
Therefore, we believe that it will be the first paper to inspect his genealogy and connections, his government career and a relationship with Yi Sun-Sin, and his activities and roles from the early ImJin-War to his death in the battle at Busan-Po.
This study lays special emphasis on how greatly his activities and military merit influenced the victory of JeollaJwa naval forces. Also, it focuses on how important he played a role under Admiral Yi Sun-Sin`s command and leadership in naval battles.
Finally, it is to investigate how his services in the battles were evaluated after ImJin war and at the time when Seon-Mu-Gong-Sin was elected. Also, it looks into how his military merit was re-evaluated in the Reign of Jeng-Jo of Joseon Dynasty and what the problem of choosing meritorious retainers was at that time.
