랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 특성에 대한 비판적 분석 = A Study on the Characteristics of Landscape Urbanism

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지난 세기동안 우리는 수많은 전통적인 영역의 해체와새로운 업역이 생성되는 것을 목도하였다. 조경의 분야도사회의 변화에 맞추어 스스로를 진화시키려는 노력이 있어왔다. 1990년대 후반에 시작된 랜드스케이프 어바니즘(landscape urbanism)은 그러한 시도 중 가장 눈에 띄는것이라 할 수 있겠다. 따라서 랜드스케이프 어바니즘이어떻게 시작되었고 발전되었는지, 그리고 전통적인 조경의 영역에 어떠한 영향을 주고 있는지 살펴보는 것은 의미 있는 일일 것이다.
본 논문은 랜드스케이프 어바니즘이 어떠한 요구에 의해나타났는지 다시 고찰하며, 문헌연구 및 사례를 통해 나타난 이 개념의 특징과 한계점을 파악하고 현재 조경분야에 있어 시사점을 제공하는 것에 목적을 둔다.

We have witnessed the dissolution of traditional disciplines and emergence of new ones. In landscape architecture, there have been numerous attempts to innovate itself responding to the societal changes.
Landscape urbanism is among the most noticeable attempts in the last few decades. Therefore, it is academically meaningful to understand how landscape urbanism has emerged and how it has influenced the field of landscape architecture.
This paper critically examines the societal demands to bring about the concept of landscape urbanism and its characteristics, in order to provide contemporary landscape architects with a better understanding on the potentials and limitations of the idea.
