권리로서의 유아 놀이에 대한 어머니의 담론분석 = Analysis of Mothers` Discourse on Young Children`s Right to Play

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We conducted interviews targeting 10 mothers to look into mothers` awareness of young children`s right to play. Here are the results of our research. First, mothers fail to understand that children have the basic right to play. Second, the older the young children get, the shorter their time for play become, and play materials and play pattern varied according to young children`s age, siblings status, and types of housing. Third, in order to revitalize young children`s play, mothers say strongly that social atmosphere of encouraging the prerequisite learning must be changed. They also demand the development of play-related programs and securing of the space for play. Finally our research suggest the necessity of national support to advocate to mothers the nature, value and importance of young children`s right to play, and to revitalize young children`s play at home.
