The purpose of this study is to further adapt to the stress, tension, and study abroad life and improve the quality of life by revealing the effect of participation in leisure sports according to the socio-demographic characteristics of Chinese international students on leisure and life satisfaction. This study was conducted with the aim of increasing life satisfaction by suggesting effective methods.
To achieve this purpose, as of 2021, the study subjects distributed questionnaires to 273 Chinese students currently attending Seoul, distributed a total of 273 questionnaires, and used only 235 copies, excluding 38 questionnaires that were deemed unfaithful.
In order to measure the socio-demographic characteristics of leisure sports participants, it consisted of a total of 6 questions: gender, age, length of stay, academic process, Korean language proficiency, and monthly living expenses. It consists of 1 question whether or not to participate in leisure sports, 2 questions for leisure activities of non-participants, and 4 questions for leisure sports activities. Leisure satisfaction consisted of 4 physiological questions, 4 psychological questions, 4 social questions, 4 educational questions, 4 rest questions, 4 environmental questions, and 24 questions of 6 types, and life satisfaction consisted of 5 questions.
SPSS/WIN 26.0 was used as the data analysis method, the statistical methods used in this study were frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The significance level of all statistics was set to p< .05. The results are as follows.
First, it was found that there were some differences in leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction according to the demographic characteristics of Chinese international students, and as a result of analyzing the factors of leisure satisfaction, there were significant differences in age, length of stay, academic process, and Korean language proficiency, and as a result of analyzing the factors of life satisfaction, there were no significant differences.
Second, there was no significant difference in the relationship between Chinese international students' participation in leisure sports activities, leisure satisfaction, and life satisfaction.
Third, it was found that Chinese international students' leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction were partially affected, and as a result of analyzing the correlation between leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction as a leisure sport, all six sub-factors of leisure satisfaction were statistically significant. As a result of analyzing the relationship between the sub-factors of leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction, it was found that educational, psychological, restful, and physiological satisfaction factors did not affect life satisfaction factors. However, among the sub-factors of leisure satisfaction, social and environmental satisfaction factors were found to have an effect on life satisfaction.
