삼봉 정도전 사상의 사회 윤리적 함의

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 다양한 사회윤리의 개념을 살펴보고 우리의 전통사상 속에서 사회 윤리적 의미를 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 사회윤리는 ‘사회에 대한 윤리’와 ‘사회의 윤리’로 대별될 수 있으며, 본고에서는 ‘사회의 윤리’ 입장에서 고려말에서 조선초 활동했던 삼봉 정도전의 사상을 분석하였다. 특히 사회윤리를 사회의 윤리로 보는 매쓰너(J. Messener)에 따르면 이념부분, 법이나 제도 또는 정책부분, 실제 어떻게 행해지고 있는가하는 관습 또는 관행부분으로 삼분하여 이 세부분이 유기적으로 구축되어야 한다고 말하고 있다. 본고는 매쓰너가 나눈 세부분을 축으로 하여 삼봉의 사상을 대입시켜보았다. 삼봉은 이상적 사회를 형성하기 위하여 국가 통치 이념을 불교에서 성리학으로 전환하고 군주 일인에 의한 통치를 제도와 법에 의한 통치로 변경했을 뿐만 아니라 토지제도나 부세법 등 다양한 정책을 통해 백성들의 고통을 덜어 주고자 하였다. 또한 당시 사회에 만연해 있던 부정부패 관행을 바꾸는데 있어 군주라도 예외가 될 순 없었다. 부정과 부패로 혼란기였던 여말선초처럼 오늘날 우리 사회 역시 물질주의와 개인주의로 각종 비리와 부조리가 만연하고 있다. 더 이상 개인의 양심이나 도덕성에 의지해 사회를 도덕적으로 만들기는 어려운 지경이 되었다. 따라서 우리는 제도나 시스템의 구축을 강조하는 사회윤리에서 그 실마리를 찾아야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to search for various concepts about social ethics and find out some meanings of the social ethics in our traditional ideology. Social ethics can be distinguished ‘ethics to society' from ‘ethics of society'. In this study, the ideas whose 'Sambong Jeong Do-jeon(1342-1398) lived as a great philosopher to the early Joseon dynasty from the late of Koreyo was analyzed from a point of view of ethics of society. According to the theory of Messener, who regarded social ethics as a kind of ethics of society, three major parts, which are especially classified with ideology part, systematical policy or constitutional law, and the practice or customs about how to implement in real life, are supposed to get good harmony with one another organically. Thus, Sambong's idea was substituted for these major three parts of the Messener's theory in this study. To accomplish the ideal country, Sambong intended to exchange the Buddhism into Confucianism as the basic theology of Joseon. In addition, he tried not only to change the government by only a king into the government by the law and system, but also alleviate the burden of the people through various kinds of revolutionary policies including the land system, tax system and so on.. Furthermore, he didn't make any exception of changing the prevailing practices of illegality and corruption by the abuse of official power as well as even a king in those days. Today our society is going toward individualism and materialism and getting worse and worse with social absurdity and unreasonableness like the social chaos in the early Joseon. Our society has a great difficulty in recovering the morality of our society relied on the individual consciousness and morality. Therefore, we have to find out a clue to the solution through researching for the Social Ethics emphasized on the establishment of constitutional law and systematical program(institution).
