This is a survey of the character of Korean student movement in a historical view-point.
Korean student movement may be classified into three major types according to its ideas for background and its seeking goals.
1.The type of nationalism that seeks for the independence and self- reliance of nation.
2.The type of socialism that runs after for the solution of problems in social stratum.
3.The type of democracy that points to establish the democratic society of nation.
Korean student movement has its typical characteristics originated in the situation of Korean history.
1.It is characteristic of the passionate sense of mission as a forerunner.
2.It is characteristic of the intensive national consciousness.
3.It is characteristic of the penetrating consciousness for the purpose.
4.It is characteristic of the spirit of strong resistance.
5.It is characteristic of the spirit of martyrdom.
