    This study is designed to study on PPAT (Person Picking an Apple from a Tree) in evaluating problem solving and make an overview on related PPAT researches. PPAT was developed by Gantt and Tabone (1998) to assess subjects for various clinical symptoms. Since it was designed, PPAT can be also known as a tool for evaluating subject's problem solving ability using the ‘Problem solving' scale which is one elements of FEATS (Formal Elements Art Therapy Scale). However, directly related research to deal with problem solving itself in PPAT can only be very limited understanding because most clinical studies on PPAT are focused on the characteristics of responses to PPAT by clinical symptoms. Therefore this study attempted to help the overall understanding of PPAT after reviewing the developmental background and characteristics of PPAT and proposed for follow-up studies that it is required to consider PPAT and problem solving.
