주민소환제도에 대한 평가 = An Evaluation on the Local Recall System

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are various kinds of devices to overcome the limitations of modern representative system in the local self-governing system. The local recall system is one of them. The local recall law of Korea was enacted in 2006 in accordance with the request of the civil movement. The local recall system in Korea applied firstly to discharging three city councillors and city mayor from his position in Hanam city. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the local recall system in Korea in view of the context of the local recall law and the cases of Hanam city and others. Firstly, this study investigates the theoretical review on local recall system as a form of direct democracy. Secondly, it evaluates the local recall system of Korea with some assessment standards. Finally, this study proposes several amendments to the local recall system of Korea.
