This study examines the relationship between the acculturative stress of foreign mothers in multicultural families, neglectful parenting attitudes, and the self-esteem of early adolescents. The data used in this research were derived from the third-year panel data (2021) of the second-wave multicultural youth panel survey conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute of Korea. A total of 1,920 respondents with no missing values for key variables were included in the analysis. Data analysis was conducted using AMOS 24.0 and SPSS 29.0 programs. The results were as follows: First, It was confirmed that the acculturative stress of foreign mothers in multicultural families had a negative effect on the self-esteem of their early adolescents. Second, Neglectful parenting attitudes were verified to mediate the relationship between the acculturative stress of foreign mothers in multicultural families and the self-esteem of their early adolescents. Based on these findings, discussions and suggestions were made to improve the self-esteem of early adolescents by addressing in the cultural adaptation stress and parenting style of foreign mothers in multicultural families.
