아동기 부모 훈육 방식이 청소년의 적대감에 미치는 영향 분석 - 부모 자녀 관계의 매개효과 검증 - = The Effects of Parental Discipline Styles on Adolescent Hostility ― Focusing on the Mediating Effect of the Parent-Child Relationship

This study was conducted to understand the effects of parental discipline styles on adolescent hostility and to identify strategies for intervention by analyzing the mediating effects of the relationship between parents and their children and the differences between the father and mother. In total, 420 adolescents were included in this study. The result of this study using the structural equation model of the mediating effect verification is as follows:First, parental discipline style has a direct influence on adolescent hostility and is mediated by the parent-child relationship. Second, the mother-child relationship does not have a mediating effect on adolescent hostility based on maternal discipline style. Based on these results, this study offers practical intervention proposals for the purpose of eliminating hostility in adolescents and strongly supporting the need for promoting awareness of the negative influence of punitive-discipline.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 아동기에 경험한 부모의 훈육방식이 성장 후 청소년의 적대감에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 부모 자녀 관계의 매개효과를 검증하여 청소년의 적대감을 완화시킬 수 있는 실천적 개입 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 연구조사는 2009년 8월부터 10월까지 실시되었으며, 최종 분석 대상자는 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년에 재학중인 남녀 청소년 420명이다. 매개효과 검증을 위해 구조방정식 모형을 활용한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지로부터 비처벌적 훈육에 비해 처벌적 훈육을 많이 받을수록 청소년의 적대감이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 훈육방식이 청소년의 적대감에 영향을 미치는 관계에서 아버지와 자녀의 관계는 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 어머니로부터 처벌적 훈육을 많이 받을수록 청소년의 적대감이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 어머니의 훈육방식이 청소년의 적대감에 미치는 영향에서 어머니와 자녀 관계는 매개효과가 밝혀지지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 청소년의 적대감을 줄이기 위한 개입 방안과 부모를 대상으로 한 효과적인 훈육방식에 대한 교육의 필요성을 제시하였다. 그리고 부모 자녀 관계에서 아버지 역할의 중요성을 강조하고 아버지와 자녀 관계를 긍정적으로 강화시킬 수 있는 부모 상담 및 가족 프로그램의 필요성을 논의하였다.
