    The present study was aimed to survey the most suitable area for seed Potato production inJeonbug. Muju, the alpine area of 700~800 m above sea level, and Jeonju, the plain area in Jeonbug,were chosen for the survey. During potato growing season, the density of insect vector population was checked with field traps. Followings are some of the results.
    1. The density of insect population of Muju was lower than that of Jeonju or Daekwanryeong.
    2. At Muju, the density of insect vectors was high during late August to early September and the dominants were Aphis gossypii, A. spiraecola,A. rumicis Aulacorthum solani, Myzus persicae, Lipaphis erysimi and Macrosiphoniella sanborni in dense order.
    3. The seed potatoes from Daekwanryeong showed the highest resistance to potato virus diseases. The potato yield at Muju was almost the same as that at Jeonju.
    4. Summariging above Muju is considered to be the best area for seed potato production.
