중학교에서 한국무용교육에 대한 실태 분석 = An Analysis of Korean Traditional Dance Education in Middle Schools

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학교 체육과 교과과정 내용 중의 하나인 한국무용 교육의 실태에 관한 교사와 학생의 인식을 살펴보는 것이 그 목적이다. 연구의 대상은 서울·경기·인천 지역의 교사 182명과 학생 369명이었으며, 연구도구는 설문지로써 교사용과 학생용으로 구분하여 제작하였다. 수집된 설문지는 기술통계 절차를 이용하여 분석하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사들의 한국무용에 대한 관심은 보통수준이었으며 한국무용의 교육적 가치는 전통문화의 이해에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 수업 내용의 선정시 이용 자료는 교과서가 아닌 연수내용이며 무용교육을 위한 학교시설에 대해 불만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사들의 한국무용에 대한 이해가 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 전공교사의 부족과 프로그램의 부족으로 인해 지도하는데 문제가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교사들은 한국무용 프로그램 개발시 학생의 흥미를 가장 우선적으로 고려해야 되는 것으로 나타났으며 무용수업에 있어서 가장 필요한 항목은 무용실인 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 학생들의 한국무용에 대한 관심과 학교에서의 지도에 있어서 여학생이 남학생보다 관심이 많고 무용교육이 필요하다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 학생들의 한국무용에 대한 이해가 매우 낮은 것으로 나타나 이를 해결하기 위한 한국무용 교육프로그램 개발이 시급한 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study was to examine the actual condition in Korean traditional dance education at middle school. A total of 182 teachers and 369 students responded to a battery of questionnaires on attitude toward Korean traditional dance education, current status of dance education, and the needs and preferences regarding dance education program. A questionnaire ware developed use for teachers and use for students. Result obtained from this research are as follows: First of all, the interest in Korean traditional dance for the teachers was not that high. The educational value for Korean traditional dance was on the understanding of traditional culture. When using the sources for the class preparation they choose to use their study and training sources instead of school books and they were not satisfied with the school facilities for teaching. Secondly, the result showed that the teachers understanding of Korean traditional dance was lacking. There were problems such as few teachers who majored in Korean traditional dance and the programs were not enough to teach. Third, when teachers were producing the programs they first consider the interest of the students and the dance room was needed the most in order for them to have the dance class. Forth, once look at the result from the school side the students interest in Korean traditional dance varies, for example female students were more interested in the dance and feel that it is needed for them than male students. Lastly, the students interest in Korean traditional dance was low and therefore developing a better program for Korean Traditional dance education is a pressing question.
