구조적 신호 읽기 = 연결망 구조와 규칙위반 행위의 조응 방식

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 행위자가 사회조직과 연결망의 구조에서 차지하는 위치에 따라 구조적 동형성에 기반하여 구조적 신호를 읽고 규칙위반에 대해 관용적으로 되는 기제를 제시한다.
본 연구는 구조적 신호라는 개념을 도입한 후, 2001년 12월에 실시한 설문조사 결과를 토대로 하여 응답자의 귀속적 연결망 소속으로 인한 구조적 동형성과, 대도시에서 가능한 구조적 다양성이 클수록, 그리고 수직적 구조에서의 지위가 높을수록 공무원과 경찰에 대한 뇌물수수를 용인하거나 본인도 뇌물을 수수하겠다는 경향이 커짐을 보이고 행위자들은 주변 환경이나 특정 조직의 구조적 배열을 통해 신호를 인지하고 이에 맞추어 그 환경이나 조직에 영향을 주는 행동을 한다고 설명한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article introduces a mechanism that explains how social actors are aware of structural signals, based on its structural position and structural isomorphism, and sympathize with violations of norms and laws. Using an opinion survey data, the article shows that a higher level of ascriptive network activities, a higher position in vertical structure and growing up in a large city are positively correlated with a higher level of endorsement of bribery, a rule-violation behavior. It offers a mechanism on how actors receive signals from structure of social organizations around them, and discusses implications of the findings on construction of social structure, and research in social network.
