지역사회 단주친목모임 참여자들이 지각하는 사회적 지지의 유형별, 출처별 특성에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

선행연구들에서 알코올중독자들이 지각하는 사회적 지지는 이들의 건강과 삶의 질에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있다는 연구결과에도 불구하고 알코올중독자 개인이 지닌 사회적지지의 차이가 가지는 특성에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 입원치료 후 또는 외래치료 후 지역사회 단주친목모임에 참여하고 있는 알코올중독자들이 지각하는 사회적 지지의 특성을 규명하고자 하였다.
조사결과, 본 연구를 위한 표본조사응답자들이 지각하는 정서적 지지의 경우 단주친목모임의 후원자, 협심자, 치료자, 배우자의 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 도구적 지지에 있어서는 배우자, 부모, 단주친목모임 후원자, 협심자의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 또한 표본조사응답자들이 지각하는 사회적 지지 수준의 전체 차원에서 출처별로 응답자들이 높게 지각하는 지지는 단주친목모임 후원자, 배우자, 협심자, 부모, 치료자 등의 순으로 나타났다.
알코올중독자를 위해 일하는 사회복지사들에게 있어서 개별 클라이언트가 지각하는 사회적 지지의 수준과 내용을 체계적으로 이해하는 지식은 알코올중독자들이 처한 어려움들을 극복하도록 돕는 일에 중요한 기여를 하게 될 것이며, 이들의 긍정적 변화를 촉진하고 유지하는 일에 있어서 사회적 지지 체계의 활용은 개입의 효과성을 높이게 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Previous studies on the health effects of social support have consistently indicated that social support enhances physical and mental health in various populations. In addition, social support has been acknowledged as one potential protective factor against the development of substance use problems. This study investigates the perceived social support among alcoholics anonymous members in terms of its types and sources.
This study adds to the existing body of knowledge about the importance of both 12-step attendance and supportive network for alcoholics. Social workers have the potential to empower the clients to make positive changes in their environment. This study provides information that contributes to the understanding how individuals perceive and engage different kinds of social support is an important step towards better knowledge about the sources of social support that may be critical to informing the development of more effective support-based interventions.
