방광암 환자의 질병 경험 : Bricker 수술 환자를 중심으로 = A Study on Experiences of Patients with Bladder Tumor

Patients with cancer have various physical and psychosocial problems. The problems of patients with bladder tumor are unique in the part that they have irreversible urostomy, which provoke whole range of problems in an extendent periods of time.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe what the patients with bladder tumor had experienced and to understand experiences of disease to make them applicable in the practical field as a way of nursing intervention.
The Data of this study was obtained by oral history method and interviews that were recorded by cassette tape and field note. Samples of hospitalized patients were 6, respectively.
The results of research are examined by dividing two problems. One is causes by Bladder tumor and the other is caused by stoma.
The problems caused by Bladder tumor are physical difficulties, psychosocial difficulties. The problems causes by stoma are physical difficulties, psychosocial difficulties, an immature control of stoma, a knowledge defficit in caring stoma, an economical burden, a discomfort in sexual life.
There are much more problems with stoma which is newly obtained than problems with bladder tumor itself. There is a leak of urine, difficulty to attach medical appliances, discomfort to take a bath and physical discomfort caused by smell.
After operation, when the object first saw stoma and treated it , they showed emotional reactions like dreary, sadness, and absurdity. Also they had troubles unaccustomed training and exercise of treatment for stoma. As time goes on, they were adapted to treatment for stoma and they pursued the information about a method of bathing and management of commodities and fellow members and also they felt a economic burden of purchasing commodities.
