Kim Ryeo’s perception, worldview, and literature changed through exile. The first creation of the experience of exile is Gamdam Diary. The farewell poems included in Gamdam Diary were the works in which his poetic personality was fully developed, and later developed into Sayuakbu. I analyzed the way of discovering and shaping human nature by giving examples of three works. The common characteristics of the three works are as follows. First, in order to describe the special person he met, to describe the experiences he shared with that person, and to express the impression he received, he chose the mid-length farewell poem in the form of five character ancient poem. Second, the objects of farewell are the people he met for the first time on the road of exile, who are of different classes and social status. Third, the poem consists of the appearance and introduction of a character, and the dramatic reproduction of the warm behavior and words that the character showed toward himself. This can be said to be a way of shaping human nature. These three poems were not written at the place of farewell, but afterward in Buryeong, the place of exile. He wrote these poems to remember the warmth of Nam Igon, Shin Heejeong, and senior village elders showed him and his impressions, as well as to commemorate the sympathy he shared with them and the new understanding of human beings he learned from them. In other words, Kim Ryeo wrote poems of memory, poems of remembrance, and commemorative poems in her own unique way through farewell poems that embodied human nature. This later developed into Sayuakbu, a series of poems written in Jinhae while missing the people of Buryeong.
