This study examines US-China relations in the period of power change and following strategic reactions of the Korea-US alliance. The United States and China relationship around the emergence of the second Obama administration and Xi Jinping regime has intensified checks and conflicts. The Obama administration turns its foreign policy towards 'pivot to Asia' diplomacy after finishing the war against terror and Xi Jinping government emphasizes 'New Type of Great Power Relationship' and core interests. Thus, it is plausible that the two great powers collide in their relations. Considering these circumstances, the Korea-US alliance may be involved in the Asia Pacific strategy and China strategy of the United States of America as it pursues 'a policy of alliance consolidation' and 'a rebalancing strategy towards Asia'. In the position of Korea being a divided nation, an ally of the US and a country in pursuit of friendly relationship with China emerging in diverse spheres, the objectives of the Korea-US alliance should be clearly reestablished. National interests should be considered as a first priority in the objectives.
