텔레비전 일일연속극에 나타난 권력관계에 관한 연구 = 가족구성원간의 상호작용을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 텔레비전에 나타난 가족성원들 간의 상호작용의 성격을 가족의 권력관계 내치 권력과정에 초점을 두고 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로 가족환경 내에서 의사결정과, 문제해결, 그리고 갈등의 해소와 관련된 주장전략과 대응행위가 구체적으로 어떻게 사용되는지를 통해 그것에 접근 하고자 하였다. 그리고 가족성원의 가족역할에 따라 그러한 과정이 어떻게 달려 나타나는지 살펴보았다. 분석자료로는 일일연속극의 홈드라마적 성격을 고착시켜 그 정통성을 유지, 발전시켜온 KBS 1TV의 일일연속극을 택하였는데, 사대적 변화에 따라 조금씩 변화된 모습을 보이고 있다는 점에서 그 특성에 따라 세 유형으로 나누어 차이점을 살펴보았다.
전반적으로 우리나라 일일연속극의 가족간 상호작용에서는 부부관계의 아내를 제외하고는, 어머니, 딸, 자매, 시어머니, 며느리 등에 있어서 그 상대편인 남성들에 비해 보다 주장적인 전략을 보이며, 그 대응에 있어서도 덜 순응적인 것으로 묘사됨으로써 여성들을 갈등의 전변에 위치시키고 있는 것을 발견할 수 있었다.
이와 더불어 시대적인 변화에 따라 일일연속극의 성격이 조금씩 달라지면서 그것이 다루는 주된 관계나 상호작용의 유형도 약간씩 차이가 나타났다. 특히 멜로드라마형에서, 상대적으로 홈드라마형이나 홈멜로형보다 권위나 강요에 대해 순응하지 않고 거부하는 개인주의적이고 탈권위주의적인 면을 발견할 수 있었으며, 보다 갈등적 관계의 요소가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Family is frequently the subject of political debate and controversy in modern society. It is sometimes said that the disintegration of the traditional family unit may threaten the whole social system. Family constructs the basic unit and gives a setting for television, especially television drama. Many television dramas have featured families as the primary story vehicle since the introduction of drama into television. Decision-making, problem solving, and conflict resolution in the family environment have been linked closely to the family power process. In this context, this paper aims to establish a descriptive analysis of assertive power process across family roles in daily serials in Korea, especially those of KBS 1 TV. As a result of analysis, the interactions between family members in television drama have been characterized by conflicts of female members with the exception of wife. Mothers, daughters, sisters, mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law are arranged on the front of conflicts and struggles among the family members, compared with their counterparts, namely men. According to the type of daily serial drama, there could be differences in main relationships and conflict strategies of family interactions. The next step in this research effort involves an attempt to correlate television content actually with real-life families and interactions between them.
