      Polyurethane (PU) has excellent elasticity as organic material. However, the limitation of thermal insulation of PU is obvious for the nature of material. On the other hands, the silica aerogel present low thermal conductivity. Because it attributes superb insulation to high porosity, large surface area by meso pores of silica networks. Silica aerogel is brittle for weak mechanical strength while the insulation property is worthy of notice. The inherent fragility of networks of silica aerogel was reinforced by the cross-linking of polymer chains. PU act such as shock absorber to cover mechanical defect of composite when there is external impact. This synthesis was followed by ambient pressure drying. The research analyzed about the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of inorganic/organic hybrid composite.
