옛말 사전의 의의와 과제 : 언간 어휘 사전의 체재를 중심으로 = Meaning and Assignment of Dictionary of Archaic Words - Focused on the system of dictionary of letters written by pure Korean

국문 초록 (Abstract)

언간은 경어법을 체계적으로 설명한다거나 대부분 한문 원본을 번역한 언해본과는 달리 자연스러운 국어 문장이 나타난다거나 일상 어휘를 반영하고 있다는 것 등으로 인하여 국어사의 중요한 자료로 다루어지고 있다. 그러나 고어로 된 난해한 어구나 구절이 많아 내용을 제대로 파악하기 어려운 문제점은 여전히 산적해 있다.
더욱이 기존의 고어사전은 기초적 정보도 제공하지 못하는 경우도 있다. 기존의 고어사전류가 언해 위주의 간본 자료를 중심으로 만들어졌고, 간략한 뜻풀이만으로는 언간에 사용된 어휘의 의미를 찾기가 쉽지 않기 때문이다. 그러므로 기존의 고어사전의 장단점을 검토하고, 일상생활의 다양한 어휘를 담고 있는 언간 본연의 특징이 드러날 수 있는 어휘 사전 제작의 의의와 과제를 찾아야 한다. 그리고 현대 국어사전과 연계성을 높여 사용자의 이해도를 높일 수 있는 방법도 찾아야 할 것이다.
기존의 고어사전류가 가지는 문제점, 즉 자료적 성격이 다른 사전이 편찰될 가능성을 타진해 보았다. 기존의 고어사전류처럼 현대 국어사전의 보충을 위한 사전 편찬이 아니라, 당시의 언어생활 전반에 걸친 정보를 제공할 수 있는 소위 '일반옛말사전'의 편찬이 필요하다. 그래야만 전문가뿐만 아니라 일반인들도 우리의 옛말로 작성된 문헌을 읽을 수 있는 도구서가 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Letters written by pure Korean are treated to be an important data in history of Korean language since they explained honorific expressions systematically, used natural sentences in Korean language, differing from Eonhaebon (books in Korean translation) translating the original copy of Chinese characters for the most part, and reflected daily words. However, they still have a problem that it is difficult to grasp their contents in a proper way since they have difficult phrases and paragraphs written by archaic words.
There are cases that the existing dictionaries of archaic words don't offer even basic information in a proper way. For, the existing dictionaries of archaic words were made on the basis of data of printed books based on Korean translation and it is not easy to find meanings of words in letters written by pure Korean with simple explanations about meaning. Therefore, we shall review advantages and disadvantages of the existing dictionaries of archaic words and find meaning and assignment to manufacture a dictionary to express the original features of letters written by pure Korean including diverse words in daily life in a proper way. And we shall find how to raise users' understanding by raising connectivity with modern Korean dictionary.
The study examined problems with the existing dictionary of archaic words, namely the possibility that dictionaries with different features of data would be compiled. It is necessary to compile 'general dictionary of archaic words' to offer information throughout language life at that time, not to compile a dictionary to supplement modern Korean dictionary. At this time, it will be a dictionary to help general people, as well as experts, to read literature written by Korean archaic words.
