This experiment was performed to study the acute toxicity and the bioaccumulation of mercuric chloride and methylmercuric chloride on Carrasius aurartus in terms of LC<sub>50</sub> and the bioconcentration factor(BCF).
96 hr LC<sub>50</sub> value was 0.224mg/L and 0.074mg/L for mercuric chloride and methylmercuric chloride, respectively.
BCF values of mercuric chloride and methylmercuric chloride were more than 1000 in all experimental groups, so that the bioaccumulation test of mercury was required to change the static test into the flow-through test.
