      The present study compared and analyzed the effect of eight weeks of Pilates lumbar stabilization exercises on the lumbar muscle strength and muscle activity of menopausal w omen. The study was carried out on 21 women between the ages of 45 and 60, who went through menopause a year earlier ago or longer, in S city, with 12 of the women in the Pilates exercise group and 9 women in the control group. Three weekly 50-60 minutes sessions of the Pilates exercise program were conducted for eight weeks before and after their lumbar muscle strength and muscle activity (rectus abdominis muscle, abdominal external oblique muscle, longissimus muscle, multifidus muscle) were measured. The results of the study are as follows. The results of the maximum strength and mean strength of the lumbar after applying Pilates lumbar stabilization exercises , appeared to be significant, while muscle activity appeared as significant for both the left & right abdominal external oblique muscle, the longissimus muscle and the multifidus muscle. Therefore, applying Pilates exercises has a positive effect. And continued Pilates exercises is deemed to effectively relieve musculoskeletal system pain and improve posture and the balance of body by stabilizing trunk muscles.
