경험은 중요한가?: 원전지역 주민들의 경험 효과에 대한 분석 = Does Experience Matter?: The Effect of Local Residents` Experience on Acceptance of Nuclear Power

Experience has been neglected because the psychometric paradigm in risk studies has focused heavily on factors related to perception. Hence, our study examines the effect of certain types of experience. We set a pro-attitude toward extended operation of nuclear power as the dependent variable and, as independent variables, five types of experience related to accidents, information, social network, visit to a nuclear power plant, and protest. Analysis shows that first, the five types of experience significantly influence the acceptance of the extension. Specifically, experience related to accidents, social network, or protest has a negative effect, whereas experience related to information or visiting a nuclear power plant has a positive effect. Second, experience.in particular, accident and information.to a large extent affects risk judgement. Accident experience has a negative effect, whereas experience related to social network, plant visit, or protest has a positive effect. Third, experience moderates the relationships between perceived benefit, risk, trust, and acceptance.
