Study results have frequently reported that children`s perceptions of teachers` attitudes have an influence on children`s school adjustment. However, these studies do not examine how teachers` job satisfaction affects teachers` attitudes, and how it is thereby a factor having an influence on children and educational outcomes. This study examines how elementary school teachers` job satisfaction and children`s perception of teachers affect children`s school adjustment. Participants in this study include 50 homeroom teachers in charge of 4~6 graders from 3 elementary schools in Busan and their 1,082 children. A hierarchical regression analysis was conducted in order to reveal the effect of teachers` job satisfaction and children`s perception of teachers on school adjustment. According to the results of the analysis, both teachers` job satisfaction and children`s perception of teachers were shown to be significant variables in predicting elementary school students` school adjustment. In addition, teachers` job satisfaction appeared as a significant variable after controlling a common part with children`s perception of their teachers. The results of this study suggest that in order to improve children`s school adjustment and increase effectiveness of school education, it is very important to ensure teachers` job satisfaction.
