국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구에서는 자폐 장애 정도가 중증이며 음성 언어를 사용하지 못하는 아동이 비음성 의사소통 체계인 그림 교환 의사소통 기술을 습득할 수 있으며, 어떤 요인이 그림 교환 의사소통 기술 습득과 관련이 있는지 알아보았다. 그리고 그림 교환 의사소통 기술 훈련이 중증 자폐 아동의 음성 의사소통 기술 습득에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 어떤 것이 음성 의사소통 기술 습득과 관련이 있는지도 알아보았다. 이를 위해, 음성 언어를 사용하지 못하고 아동기 자폐증 평정 척도(CARS)에서 중증 자폐 장애로 분류되는 아동 20명에게 1년 동안 주 5일 매일 10회씩 그림 교환 의사소통 훈련을 하였다. 그 결과 아동기 자폐증 평정 척도 점수에 따라 그림 교환 의사소통 기술 습득 여부에 차이가 있으며, 그 기술을 습득하는데 소요되는 일수도 개인차가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 아동기 자폐증 평정 척도를 구성하는 요인 중 대인관계, 모방, 시각 반응, 비음성 의사소통, 활동성, 지적 반응 수준 및 항상성 등 6개 요인이 그림 교환 의사소통 기술 습득과 관련이 있는 변인으로 나타났다. 그리고 그림 교환 의사소통 기술 훈련 전후의 음성 의사소통 점수를 비교 분석한 결과 이들 중 9명이 그림 교환 의사소통 훈련을 받고 나서 음성 의사소통 기술이 향상된 것으로 나타났으며 모방, 사물 취급, 시각 반응, 비음성 의사소통, 지적 반응 수준 및 항상성 등 5개 요인이 음성 의사소통 기술 습득과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
