청소년의 성장 마인드셋과 진로성숙도의 관계에서 우울과 자기결정이론 동기의 매개효과 검증 = Examining the Relationship Between Growth Mindset and Career Maturity among adolescents

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 한국 청소년의 성장 마인드셋과 진로성숙도의 관계에서 우울과 자기결정이론 동기의 매개효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 한국교육개발원의 한국교육종단연구 2013 코호트의 2차와 3차 데이터를 사용하여, 잠재평균분석(latent mean analysis)으로 변인들의 시점에 따른 차이를 검증한 후, 구조모형의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2차(초6)와 3차(중1) 시점의 성장 마인드셋, 우울, 자기결정이론 동기는 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 우울과 자기결정이론 동기는 성장 마인드셋과 진로성숙도의 관계를 부분 매개하였다. 구체적으로 성장 마인드셋은 우울을 감소시키고, 자기결정이론 동기의 하위요인인 무동기, 외적 조절을 감소시킨 반면 내재적 동기를 증가시켜 진로성숙도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과는 아동청소년의 진로성숙도 향상을 위하여 성장 마인드셋을 증진시키는 교육적 개입이 필요하며, 이때 우울과 자기결정이론 동기를 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of depressive symptoms and motivation on the relationship between growth mindset and career maturity among adolescents. To this end, we used the Korea Education Longitudinal Study 2013 data set (Korea Educational Development Institute [KEDI], 2019). We examined the differences in variables at different time points by latent mean analysis and then tested the mediating effect using a structural equation model. The results are as follows. First, there were significant differences in the level of growth mindset, depressive symptoms, and motivation from sixth grade in elementary school (age 12) to first grade in middle school (age 13). Second, depressive symptoms and motivation mediated the relationship between growth mindset and career maturity. Specifically, the growth mindset had a positive effect on career maturity by reducing depressive symptoms, amotivation and external regulation which are sub-factors of motivation, and increasing intrinsic motivation. The implications of the study are discussed.
