While smart city planning is gaining importance as a statutory plan, the importance of citizen participation living labs is being emphasized in the process of establishing smart city plans. At this point, it is necessary to conduct a more effective citizen participation living lab by deriving ways to improve the methodology through a survey of the operation status of citizen participation living labs. To this end, this study aims to understand the operation status of citizen participation living labs and derive implications for developing improvement measures by conducting a comprehensive survey of smart city plans approved after the revision of the Smart City Act
