Snow on the road which cause lots of traffic tie-ups and collisions threaten safety of pedestrians and drivers. There are two types of snow removal systems that commonly used such as spreading the calcium chloride and spraying the salt-water. However, salt-water corrodes surrounding structures and causes environmental pollution. Therefore, in this study, new type of snow removal system is suggested by heated salt-water using Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage (LHTES). In order to reduce salt-water usage, a parametric study was conducted on the snow removal performance of salt water according to its temperature. As a result, the appropriate charging and discharging flow rate of LHTES were determined by 5 L/min, and 7 L/min, respectively. Eventually, the optimal injection rate of salt-water according to the amount of snow was suggested.
