The purpose of this study was to investigate the receptive attitude of the regular classroom children toward handicapped peers in the elementary school as to gender difference, grade difference.
Questionnaires were distributed among 243 children of the regular classes of 1th, 3th, 5th grades. ANOVA was used for analysis of data about difference of cognitive and behavioral aspects of attitudes between 3 groups, t-test was used for analysis of data about difference of sex.
The research findings were as follows : (a) Significant difference were found between the groups, 5th, 3th, and 1th grades felt much negative in that order of intensity. Older children possess less favorable attitudes toward individuals with disabilities than do younger children; (b) No significant difference were found between boys and girls.
