뉴스 언어의 선정성과 언론의 상업성: ‘김학의 성접대 사건’ 보도에 대한 의미연결망 분석을 통해

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 권력형 성추문 사건으로 불리는 ‘김학의 성접대 사건’ 보도에 나타난 뉴스 언어체계를 의미 연결망 분석을 통해 알아보았다. 분석결과, 국내 일간신문들은 성접대, 동영상, 별장, 여성, 성관계, 강간, 여성 사업가, 고위공직자, 사회지도층, 소문, 의혹과 같은 말초적이고 선정적인 언어를 지나치게 많이 사용했다. 그러나 신문사 간의 이념에 따라 사용하는 단어에는 다소 차이가 있었다. 보수신문인 〈조선일보〉는 개발비, 공사, 이권, 뇌물, 인테리어, 특혜와 같은 기업의 로비와 사업자의 이권에 관계되어 있는 뉴스 언어를 많이 사용했다. 같은 보수신문인 〈동아일보〉는 성접대, 성폭행, 성상납, 섹스파티, 집단혼음, 쇠사슬과 채찍, 최음제, 에로물, 강간, 예쁜 여자와 같은 자극적이고 외설적인 단어를 상대적으로 많이 사용했다. 이에 반해 진보신문인 〈한겨레〉는 검사, 계좌추적, 배임, 비리, 사업가, 압수수색, 결탁, 진실과 같은 검찰의 사건수사에 무게를 둔 단어를 사용했고, 같은 진보신문인 〈경향신문〉은 공직기강, 국정원, 조사, 할복자살과 같은 공직자의 도덕성에 비중을 두는 단어를 비교적 많이 사용했다. 권력형 성추문 사건에 대한 언론의 선정적 언어구성이 언론의 상업주의와 어떤 관련성이 있는지를 중심으로 논의했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the news language system in the news coverage of ‘Kim Hak-ui’s sex violence case, which is called the power-related sex case, through semantic network analysis. As a result of the analysis, domestic daily newspapers have used too much peripheral and sensational language such as sex entertainment, videos, villas, women, sexual relations, rape, female businessmen, senior officials, social leaders, rumors and suspicions. However, there were some differences in the words used according to the ideology between the newspapers. The conservative newspaper, Chosun Ilbo, used a lot of news language related to corporate lobby and business interests such as development cost, construction, interest, bribe, interior, and profits. The same conservative newspaper, Dong-A Ilbo, used a lot of stimulating and obscene words such as sex entertainment, sexual assault, sexual peddling, sex parties, group sex, chains and whips, aphrodisiac, eroticism, rape and pretty women. On the other hand, the liberal newspaper, Hankyoreh, used words that weigh heavily on investigations of prosecutors, such as inspection, account tracking, bribery, corruption, businessmen, seizure search. And also the same liberal newspaper, Kyunghyang, used a relatively large number of words that emphasized the morality of public officials such as public discipline, NIS(National Intelligence Service), inspection, and suicide. We discussed the relationship between the news language composition of the media on the power-related sex violence and the commerciality of the media.
