부산지역 일반계 및 실업계 고등학생이 지각하는 사회적 지지와 자아존중감 = Perceived Social Support and Self-Esteem of General and Vocational High School Students in Busan Metropolitan Area

국문 초록 (Abstract)

◈이 연구의 목적은 지각된 사회적 지지와 자아존중감의 수준에 있어서 일반계 고등학생과 실업계 고등학생간에 차이가 있는지를 실증적으로 분석하는 것이다. 다단계 군집표집방법에 따라 추출한 부산지역 고등학생 685명으로부터 설문지를 통해 수집한 자료를 다중회귀분석하였다. 분석 결과에서는：1) 일반계 고등학생이 실업계 고등학생보다 높은 수준의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감 수준을 보이고 있다; 2) 사회적 지지의 수준이 높을수록 자아존중감도 높게 나타났으며, 사회적 지지가 자아존중감에 미치는 영향의 정도는 일반계 고등학생에게서 더 높았다; 3) 사회적 지지를 유형에 따라 구분했을 경우에 일반계 고등학생은 평가적 지지가 높을수록 자아존중감의 수준이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다; 그리고 4) 사회적 지지를 출처에 따라 구분하면 일반계 고등학생은 교외 친구의 사회적 지지가, 실업계 고등학생의 경우에는 형제 및 자매의 사회적 지지가 자아존중감에 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 일반계 및 실업계 고등학생의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감의 차이에 대한 이론적 모형 개발이 체계적으로 이루어지지 않은 것은 이 연구의 제한점으로 지적될 수 있으며, 따라서 향후의 연구과제로 남는다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the differences in levels of perceived social support and self-esteem between general and vocational high school students. Students' perceptions of emotional, appraisal, informational, and instrumental support from their mother, father, siblings, in- and out-of-school friends, and teachers were measured. Data were collected from 685 high school students in Pusan Metropolitan Area, who were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling, and were analyzed through multiple regression method. The major findings were：1) students of general high schools reported higher levels of perceived social support and self-esteem than vocational high school students; 2) there was a positive relationship, which was more marked in general high school students than in vocational high school students, between the perceived social support and self-esteem scores; 3) the effects of appraisal and informational support for general high school students, but none of social support types for vocational high school students, on self-esteem were statistically significant; and 4) that the perceived social support from out-of--school friends was positively related to self-esteem for general high school students, but social support from siblings was positively related for vocational high school students. Theoretical model for the differences in the levels of perceived social support and self-esteem between general and vocational high school students was not developed in this study, and was left for future study.
