미술관에서의 전시 BPR을 기반으로 한 전시회관리시스템 설계 및 구현-결과보고서

국문 초록 (Abstract)

미술관은 문화·예술의 발전과 일반 공중의 문화향수 증진에 이바지하기 위하여 박물관 중에서 특히 서화·조각·공예·건축·사진·디자인 등 미술에 관한 자료를 수집·관리·보존·조사·연구·전시하는 시설을 의미한다. 이러한 미술관에서의 전시업무는 작품, 조직, 전시장, 관객이라는 네 가지 요소들이 서로 유기적으로 연결되어 만들어지는 복합적이고 다양한 업무구조들로 이루어져 있다.
본 연구는 “21세기 핵심기술과 산업가치의 변화, 미술관의 기능적 역할 증대, 미술관의 경영혁신 필요”라는 배경하에, 미술관에서 반복적으로 행해지는 전시회의 업무구조를 파악해서, 이를 체계적으로 관리할 수 있는 시스템에 대한 설계와 구현을 목표로 설정하였다. 따라서 기존에 선행된 연구와 이론을 고찰하였으며, 미술관의 기능적 역할과 열약한 국내의 미술관 환경을 분석하였고, IT 기반하의 관리시스템에 대해서 분석하였다.
1차 연구단계에서는 미술관의 업무에 대한 환경 분석으로 국내의 미술관/갤러리를 대상으로 설문조사, 문헌조사, 현장실사가 행해졌으며, 전시회 업무 프로세스 모델을 설정하기 위해서 정성적, 정량적 업무 분석으로 진행되어졌다.
2차 연구단계에서는 전시업무재설계(E-BPR)를 위해서 기존의 미술관 업무를 대-중-소분류로 분류해서 조사하였고, 전시 업무 프로세스 모델을 제안하기 위하여 전시 프로젝트 업무 참여자 유형을 제안하고 전시업무를 선행과 후행업무로 나누어서 업무의 범례를 작성, 승인, 확인, 회의, 검토로 설정하여 코드화하였다. 이를 다이어그램으로 표현하여 미술관 전시업무 프로세스 모델을 제안하였다.
3차 연구단계에서는 전시업무 프로세스 모델을 바탕으로 인터넷 기반의 전시회관리시스템(EMS)을 설계하고 구현하였다. 기본 설계는 전시회 업무를 중심으로 구조설계와 내용설계를 바탕으로 프로토타입 시스템 형태로 구현하였다. 이렇게 구현된 시스템을 사례연구로서 미술관을 대상으로 테스트를 시행하였다.
본 연구결과로 미술관 업무환경에 대한 실태가 조사.분석되었고, 미술관의 전시회 업무 프로세스 모델이 제안되어 미술관 학예사 및 전시 참여자의 업무 능률 향상이 기대된다. 또한 전시회 관련 지식의 활용도 향상될 것이다. 이외에도 문화적 가치의 증대와 미술관 연구의 학문적 발전에도 큰 도움이 될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

An art museum means an institution to collect, manage, preserve, investigate, research, and exhibit materials concerning art, including works of pictorial art and calligraphy, sculptures, industrial arts, constructions, photographs, and designs, among other kinds of museum in order to make contributions to the cultural and artistic development and to the improvement of cultural appreciation among common people. The exhibition practice in the art museum consists of multiple and diverse constituents through organic connection of four elements: works, organization, an exhibition hall, and the audience.
Under the background that "it is necessary to change key techniques and industrial values for the 21st century, increase the functional role of an art museum, and innovate management of an art museum," this study investigated a task structure of an exhibition repeated in an art museum and then set a goal of designing and implementing a system to manage it systematically. To achieve this goal, the study reviewed the existing studies and theories, analyzed the functional role of an art museum and poor environment in local art museums, and analyzed IT-based management systems.
At the first stage, survey, literature review, and field study were conducted in domestic art museums/galleries as an environmental analysis of art museums through qualitative and quantitative analyses to establish a process model of exhibition practices.
At the second stage, the existing art museum practices were classified and investigated in large, middle, and small classes for exhibition business process reengineering (E-BPR); the types of participants in an exhibition project practice were suggested to present an exhibition practice process model; and exhibition practices were divided into prior and follow-up ones and set and coded into preparation, approval, confirmation, conference, and review. This was expressed in a diagram to present an exhibition practice process model for an art museum.
At the third stage, an Internet-based exhibition management system (EMS) was designed and implemented on the basis of the exhibition practice process model. The fundamental design was implemented in the form of prototype system on the basis of structural and content designs centered on the exhibition practices. As a case study, this system was tested in art museums.
In this study, actual environment for practices in an art museum was investigated and analyzed with an exhibition practice process model suggested for an art museum; consequently, it is expected that art museum workers and participants in an exhibition will see their practice efficiency improved. There will also be a great increase in the use of knowledge concerning an exhibition. Besides, this study will be significantly useful in increasing cultural values and in developing studies on an art museum academically.
