호남유학의 현대적 조명 : 호남 유학사상의 특질 = Special Edition : The character of Ho-Nam confucian philosophy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is an investigation about the character of Ho-Nam Confucian philosophy. `The Ho-Nam`, what is called, means the background of the ancient Back-Je dynasty. The main point in this paper is how to understand and define the character of Ho-Nam Confucianism in the developing process of Korean confucianism. The problems of Confucianism grown up and developed in the Ho-Nam province is summed up like the followings: the Confucianism delivered by a Confucianist Wang-In and the problem which Three nations accepted it, how do we definite the Ho-Nam confucianism formed in the end of Gorea dynasty and the first stage of Chosun dynasty, what is the result of Ho-Nam confucianism from the development periods of morality and Metaphysics, and what is the meaning of Ho-Nam realism in growing up and developing of realistic philosophy?. The subject about the organization and background of Ho-Narn confucianism is described in the second chapter. It shows the Confucian character of Wang-in who lived in Backje and Kim yang-gam who lived in Gorea dynasty as a confucian character of Ho-Nam province. The third chapter shows the distinctive character of consciousness after the formation of new Confucianism. Especially it describes that the people in Ho-Nam sacrificed themselves for scholarship, practical ethics and fidelity appeared in the cause of organizing and developing moral philosophy before and after Kimyo purge. The fourth chapter shows that what meaning did the speculation of centering around energy have and how much did the Ho-Nam Confucianism have developed itself under the argumentation of the four commencements and seven affections? The fifth chapter shows the occurrence and development of realism, the geographical surroundings and the realism character in Ho-Nam province. Especially, it shows that the practical science had come from the prudent activity to solve the contradiction of the economic system in the end of Chosun dynasty and the aristocratic classes` rudeness. The realism of Chosun dynasty originated with the Chosun people and it was formed by our peoples` creative and independent consciousness. This paper which has described above details is the analyzation about the orthodoxy of the Ho-Nam confucianism maintaining a characteristic and original style.
