유아교사들의 환경에 대한 심성모형 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed at identifying early childhood teachers' mental models of the environment. 14 early childhood teachers participated in drawing of the environment, explaining of the drawing, and interviewing. Early childhood teachers' mental models of the environment consisted of numerous environmental factors: human resource, natural place, natural material, artifact, environmental pollution, and relationship. From this analysis four mental models emerged: Model 1, the environment as a something providing places and resources for humans; Model 2, the environment as a something surrounding humans; Model 3, the environment as a something impacted or modified by human activity; Model 4, the environment as a something interrelating with humans.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아교사들의 환경에 대한 심성모형을 그림분석과 심층면담을 통해 분석하여 교사교육과 환경교육 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 14명의 유아교사들과 3차례에 걸쳐 환경에 대한 심층면담을 실시하였고, 환경에 대한 그림과 그림에 대한 설명을 하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료는 코딩, 주제화, 주제 확정의 단계를 거쳐 분석하였다.
유아교사들은 환경을 인적자원, 자연적 공간, 자연물, 인공물, 환경오염, 관계와 같은 구성요소로 보고 있었다. 유아교사들의 심성모형을 유형별로 이러한 요소들 중 한 가지로 이뤄지기도 하였고 여러 가지로 구성되기도 하였다. 환경에 대한 유아교사들이 가진 심성모형은 인간의 신체적, 정서적 성장과 안녕을 위해 필요한 장소와 자원들을 제공하는 인간을 위해 존재하는 것, 인간 주변에 있는 자연환경, 인공물, 인적 환경 등과 같이 인간을 둘러싸고 있는 것, 인간의 행동에 의해 파괴되고 오염되는 인간에 의해 영향 받는 것, 인간과 상호작용하며 공존하는 인간의 근원이 되는 것으로 보는 유형으로 나타났다.
