This study aims that analyzing the influence of a founder's disposition on organization's performance within the framework of a small business founder's characteristics, namely a founder's background and characteristic attributes.
It is clear that small businesses are related with many people at this point. And the balanced development of society and economic growth are highly valued than any other things. In particular, in case of our country that socially has an important issue of unemployment, small business' roles that take a big share in creating jobs are very important.
There are highly correlated with the founder's personal attributes and management for small business' success. So this study is focusing a founder's personal attributes, which are background attributes and characteristic attributes.
For these things, this study reviewed the existing literature research, and created and tested a few hypotheses. And the survey was conducted with CEOs of small business that are located in Daejeon area. To summarize that were confirmed model basis of the result in positive analysis is as below.
First, it was revealed that a founder's personal attributes do not have any influence on organization's performance. In other words, it showed that a founder's personal attributes do not have influence on organization's performance. The personal attributes were gender, age, academic background, major, experience in business, experience in starting a new business.
However, it was found that a founder's academic background had influence on the performance of financial and job performance. And the experience in starting a new business related with job satisfaction and job performance.
Second, it showed that a founder's characteristic attributes had influence on organization's performance. The higher a founder's desire of accomplishment and risk taking disposition, the more influence it had on job satisfaction. It showed that the more immanent a founder's control position was, although it had influence on the performance of financial affairs, the less influence on job performance it had.
This study is expected to be used for education, consulting, and guide for a successful starting business for preliminary traders who prepare small business in the future.
