Each resident was divided into three groups with respect to distances from the major arterials to household location.
Some of chronic respiratory symptoms, that is, chronic cough, chronic phlegm, chronic wheeze, breathlessness, were reported more frequently among residents nearer to the road, these results suggest that exposure to automobile exhaust is significant risk in development of chronic respiratory symptoms.
